Let me start this post off by stating the obvious… I am not a model. Shocker right? Okay, you know I am kidding, but in this blog post I am going to share with you some exciting current happenings in my world and how you can get in on supporting small local businesses and have a bit of fun and luxury in your life too. In this post I share pics of me playing Instagram model. Lol! Way out of my comfort zone and not really a talent of mine, but I love supporting small local businesses. So when Marissa, the owner of Bel Air’s cute and posh boutique The Velvet Trunk , asked me to do some cross promoting with her to demo some of her new and super cute athletic pieces I jumped at the chance.
You may remember a blog post I did a while back about some of my favorite places on Main St. If not, you can read more here. Marissa is super friendly, and very talented when it comes to fashion. She has so many affordable and fashionable pieces of clothing in her shop. I already own many cute dresses and blouses from her boutique, I couldn’t wait to try her athletic apparel! Not only are the pieces cute, they are super comfy! Best of all they are functional. Look how adorable these pants are!
Best of all they don’t ride down when you jump, run or bend over. (Nothing worse than jumping rope and your pants start to ride down. Ugh!) These pants are form fitting without being too tight or bunching in place you don’t want them to bunch in.
As you can tell in the pics above I’m just a goof ball who enjoys what I do for a living. Training people to workout and helping them to live a healthy sustainable life. So having pictures taken of me as though I’m some young millennial on Instagram is very awkward for me, but hey…it doesn’t hurt to get out of your comfort zone now and again. Easy to do, when you have a cool outfit to show off.
Look at the back of this top! I love it. In fact it’s so comfy that I recently wore it on my trip to Utah. When I travel I want to be comfortable but also look like I got dressed. The top can be used to workout in or just sport around town.
That sports bra though! Not only is it super sexy looking, it works. Plenty of support and if you look closely you will see a zipper. How genius it that to add a zipper you a sports bra. Have you every tried to get out of a sports bra when you are sore and sweaty? Yeah, not fun. It’s like being trapped in a scuba suit, and it takes some awkward movements to finagle out of it. The zipper on this sports bra makes it easy to take on and take off.
There are other colors and different looks to choose from at The Velvet Trunk. Oh, They also sell a pair of maroon pants that are so velvety and soft with breathable mesh on the leg. They must be pretty popular because they were out of my size. I’ll be back for them though. While I was there, I bought this plush pink blouse that I wore to a Valentine’s dinner with Bob. Marissa has so many unique items in her shop. I can’t wait to see what she offers this spring. If you don’t live in the area, no worries you can order online. Check it out!
Also, local Harford County peeps, if you are looking for something different and fun to do on the weekends with your friends, then swing by Alecraft Brewery every 2nd and 4th Saturday of the month at 10am and join me for Bootcamp and Beer. Class is only $15 and includes a fun challenging interactive bootcamp class, as well as a beer afterward. Alecraft Brewery just opened on Main Street, the beer is good…especially after a hard sweat session.
